60 rapid, accurate and reliable tests to measure the NO2 level of your aquarium or pond water.
60 rapid, precise and reliable tests to measure the concentration of nitrites in your aquarium
The concentration of nitrites (NO2) that derive from pollutant substances such as fish droppings, food remains and dead plants present in the aquarium must never exceed 0.00 mg / l as their concentration, even small, can result in the death of fish.
Can be used for both freshwater and marineaquariums.
It can also be used to check the concentration of nitrites in ornamental ponds.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Rinse the tube several times with the water to be examined before filling it up to the 5 ml mark.
Add 4 drops of reagent no. 1 and shake.
Add 4 drops of reagent no. 2 and shake, inverting the tube several times. The reaction takes approximately 4 minutes.
Compare the colour of the solution with those in the table by placing the test tube close to the most similar colour and observing it from above.
Clean the tube after use, close the reagent containers well and store them in a cool, dry place away from light.
Keep the product out of the reach of children.
VALID FOR

HELPS TO MAINTAIN
A NATURAL AQUARIUM
What are nitrites?
Nitrites are harmful chemical compounds that form in the aquarium, within the aquarium nitrogen cycle, which is activated by waste substances such as fish faeces and urine, dead plants and food residues.
They are formed in the second step of this cycle, when the Nitrobacter transform ammonium and ammonia into Nitrites.
The ratio between the number of fish and the volume of water in the aquarium or pond and an efficient filtering and proportional system are fundamentalfactors to guarantee a
pollutant-free biosystem.
In the case of values higher than zero, perform an immediate partial water change and eliminate the main causes
1) decreasing the density of the aquarium population
2) limiting food rations
3) enhancing the filtering system.
